See the flame at the front of the boat? It was a perfect farewell! Goodbye our dear Steven.
We had a little trouble setting the boat on fire...This was just a very special way to 'scatter' ashes. I wish everyone could have been there.
Just before we set Steven (and mom's) ashes asail in Suttons Bay...we had a beautiful ceremony before and shed our tears and then it was with great joy that we said our last goodbye on Steven's birthday and the anniversary of mother's death...
The boat before we got it ready to sail out into Suttons Bay...everyone signed it and we all made a beer toast to Steven...Yes, I had my first taste of beer...

David returning from a boat ride...he was determined to go...it took 4 men to get him off the boat, but worth the effort. Such helpful hands....08-13-08
Porch of the Grand Hotel, Mackinac Island...where we really did have drinks...Took a horse drawn taxi. A beautiful day. 08-11-08

Lunch in Frankenmuth with my childhood friend...Janie Cassell-Grimes. 08-10-08.

A Native American friend scattered some tobacco in the St. Clair River and said a prayer before we scattered a few of Steven's ashes here on Sunday morning...08-10-08
